An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Underwriter to join our Motor Fleet team in Glasgow. This is a great position for someone who has already gained an understanding working within insurance that’s now keen to take their career one step further.

This role will involve working from home combined with time in our Glasgow office at least two days per week.
Role Details
The role will include analysing claims data, sending out renewal terms, answering the day-to-day queries from Brokers, and ensuring that renewal terms are sent out in accordance with our compliance rules and regulations.
Other duties will include processing, data analysis and supporting our teams of Underwriters, which in turn will allow you to get involved with writing your own cases.
As a part of our successful team, you will be expected to:
- Build and maintain successful broker relationships
- Develop business relationships with key clients
- Achieve agreed financial performance targets
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery and growth
- Engage fully in the cross-sell culture in Allianz
- Process renewals and mid-term adjustments
- Prepare and issue documents to Brokers ensuring that we adhere to compliance and regulation
The role will include attending meetings, meeting Brokers and assisting our Senior Underwriters.
This is a varied role and an exciting opportunity and would suit someone who thrives on being challenged and enjoys every day being different and varied
Skills & Experience
- Must have prior experience working within an insurance environment
- Any underwriting experience is a bonus
- A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Adaptable communication styles
- An analytical mind
- Good trading and negotiation skills with a proven ability to build, develop and maintain broker relationships
- Able to organise own workload to meet tight deadlines and support the team in delivering excellent service levels.
- Diploma CII or willing to progress towards
- A positive "can do" attitude
- To demonstrate Allianz's day to day values of being responsible, caring, excellent and connected and demonstrating this in day-to-day behaviour
