Salamanda Swimming Academy is a private swimming school based in Wolverhampton and Dudley we have a reputation for producing technically excellent swimmers who have gone on to competitive swimming club. We pride ourselves on meeting a child's individual needs in the water, allowing them to progress through the various stages of the Swim England awards, so that they get the maximum enjoyment from this vital life skill
Swim England affiliated we offer a swimming pathway to Wolverhampton Swimming Club we are proud of our achievements with many swimmers going on to swim at County and National level & International level
We are looking to recruit a number of individuals who enjoy working with children and have a passion for swimming, health & well being
Our training agreement offers a pathway to become a swimming teacher at the end of it candidates will be qualified to either Swim England or STA Level 2 standard and will be guaranteed their own classes with the number of hours based around their availability
On completion of the final qualification candidates are required to work for Salamanda for a minimum of 24 months, this is not exclusivity to Salamanda and will be discussed at time of interview in more deta
There is a requirement to commit and volunteer to attend our current time table of lessons so that you can gain valuable experience and learn on the job whilst shadowing our experienced team of teachers, voluntary hours initially are to suit, as they can be slotted in around current work or education commitments. Candidates will need to be available for a minimum of two sessions a week, classes are term time only and sessions can be selected from any of the following:
Colton Hills Pool, Wolverhampton : Monday 430 till 730pm, Tuesday 430 till 730pm, Wednesday 5pm till 7pm, Thursday 5pm till 7pm, Saturday 9am till 2pm & Sunday 9am till 1230pm
Crestwood High School, Kingswinford, Dudley : Thursday 430pm till 730pm, Friday 430pm till 730pm & Sunday 9am till 12pm
Pre-requisite requirements
- Be able to swim
- Have a passion for swimming
- Strong communication skills, experience in a customer facing / service environment
- Be engaging and motivational and a positive role model with a fun outlook on life
- Have a talent to engage with young children
- Good administration skills and well organised
- Be able to drive and be flexible in the long term for teaching days

Once qualified as part of our teaching team you will be enthusiastic delivering progressive swimming practices , capable of tailoring lessons to the age and ability of the lessons that you will have responsibility for.
