Trainee Solicitor / Litigation Executive Glasgow, Scotland

Horwich Farrelly Solicitors
Full Time Glasgow, Scotland 10.56 - 12.04 GBP Today
Job description

Our Scottish team is filled with legal professionals working in an engaging and friendly environment. Our people pride themselves on making an impact through providing an excellent, results and solutions focussed service to our clients.

There is a great team ethos and we encourage our people to be involved in various team and firm wide initiatives centred on personal development and wellbeing, not just the work we do.

Our Recoveries department works for most major insurers in seeking to recover their insured and uninsured losses following road traffic accidents. With the support of experienced team members and a management system, you can come and join us.

What do I need?

You will ideally have previous experience within a similar role handling a full and varied case load of recovery files. Experience of working in the insurance industry would be beneficial but is not essential.

You will need to be a dedicated individual who can work to deadlines and manage the lifecycle of a claim from start to finish. Working alongside solicitors, you will need to assist with progressing litigated files to a conclusion.

We would like to see a strong work ethic and a committed team player. We are a close knit and dedicated team that like to share ideas and experience with a view to achieving the best results that we can for our Clients.

What will you be doing?

You will be asked to competently deal with a case load of both pre-litigation and litigated recovery files within our case management system. You will review files and make assessments on liability and quantum, intimate and negotiate claims, and engage with insurer clients and their customers throughout the process.

You will be working alongside an experienced team which has recovered over £5 million for clients.

This is what the hiring manager, Steven, says about the role

“We are a dynamic firm taking a fresh approach to claims in Scotland and working closely with our clients to deliver better results. The successful candidate will be warmly welcomed and supported from the outset with the HF approach. Working in a supportive environment, you will form an important part of our team, recovering sums for innocent customers negatively impacted by road traffic accidents, with occasional work in other areas too including property damage claims. ”

What’s in it for you?

We are not your stereotypical corporate law firm. We offer flexible working and have a relaxed dress code, you can be yourself at work. We offer hybrid working and flexible working hours for all.

We continue to place a firm emphasis on investing in our people and promoting internally, from paying for professional subscriptions to offering learning and development grants for further study, we are always looking to invest and grow our people.

We’re always looking to recognise and reward our people for the work they do. Here are just a few of the benefits you’ll have access to, as part of our team:

25 days’ annual leave (in addition to full Scottish public holidays), increasing to 30 days with service

Private healthcare provision

Company pension scheme

Enhanced parental leave

Cycle to Work scheme

Life insurance and income protection

Employee Assistance Programme & Digital GP service

Season ticket loans

Professional subscriptions paid and development grants

Flu vouchers

Bonus scheme

Perks at work scheme package
