Job Title: Trainee Solicitor In-House
Location: Reigate – Hybrid (80% office: 20% home)
Fixed Term Contract – 18 – 24 months (depending on prior experience)

The Role
An excellent career opportunity to train in at least three separate seats to achieve the proficiency and experience required to be formally admitted as a Solicitor.
Training will include a broad range of activities and tasks of differing levels of complexity to gain core level competency to practice as a Solicitor, working with a high-calibre legal team in a supported yet dynamic, competitive and ever evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Providing support in raising the business awareness of legal risk management issues (including relevant developments in the legal and regulatory framework).- To educate and promote adherence to the businesses’ internal policies, in particular the Group Legal Risk Management Policy.
- To support and assist in managing functional risk, ensuring that adequate internal process controls are applied and reported to identify, manage and mitigate areas of risk.
- To provide the Legal team and businesses with relevant research and training where required.
- Providing supervised high calibre, solution focused legal support and incremental expertise in relation to contract queries, drafting and negotiation, assisting the business balance legal and reputational risk.
- Deal with routine enquiries and communications in a professional manner.
- Assist in drafting legal advice notes on specific matters for a variety of recipients, including but not limited to legal colleagues, business colleagues and group functions, business suppliers and external counsel.
- Providing research for other members of the Legal team.
- Ensure legal knowledge remains up to date in terms of current and planned legislative changes.
Skills and Experience
Essential Requirements
- Completion of SRA Legal Practice Course or equivalent
- Previous paralegal experience
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in the financial services sector
