Training and development;
The successful candidate will be expected to complete a full chemistry diploma course with the further option of studying for a chemistry degree via the Open University.
This is a four year course that will be fully funded by Veolia including day release to study, a week in the Summer to attend the Open University Campus and the full support and resources required to complete this qualification. At the end of which the successful candidate will be a fully qualified chemist on site with a nationally recognised qualification.
Full internal training wil alsol be provided in various aspects of site operations including health and safety, environmental protection and waste regulations
What you'll be doing;
- Work for the senior chemist in the hazardous waste transfer station.
- Analyse incoming material to the site for compliance against agreed waste specifications.
- Allocate recycling and disposal routes for incoming material, ensuring all legal requirements for environmental protection are complied with.
- Help to ensure the site and plant operates in a safe and compliant manner.
What we're looking for;
- A minimum of A-Level in Chemistry or equivalent.
