Trainee Research Analyst (Swansea)
Permanent role with an immediate start
Annual salary starting from £21,000 to £24,000 per year
37 days paid holidays
Full-time or part-time applications considered
Initially based in our Swansea office, but hybrid office/home working will be considered following probationary period
We are expanding our Research Team with a new Trainee Research Analyst position and welcome applications from graduates and postgraduates with a degree in a social science or other relevant discipline. Individuals with relevant vocational experience are also encouraged to apply, especially where they have strong organisational and analytical skills.
The role will involve designing survey questionnaires and sample frames, undertaking further statistical analysis and report writing, as well as providing wider support across a range of primarily quantitative research projects. Colleagues will be expected to make an immediate contribution, providing individual support on small projects and working as part of a wider team on larger projects.
Whilst on-going training and support will be provided from across the wider team, we would expect the successful candidate to demonstrate:
- General awareness of a range of social research and statistical methods
- Excellent analytical skills, numeracy and logic
- Confidence in working with data, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to prepare appropriate tables and charts, and describe statistics using plain English
- Self-motivation with a flexible and adaptable approach, being organised and able to work to deadlines
- Be computer literate with familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word, and ideally experience of using statistical tools such as Python or R.
