Trainee Quantity Surveyor

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to:
- Be responsible for assisting the Commercial Manager in carrying out any quantity surveying duties.
- Attend monthly Internal & Client led Team Contract Meetings in SPS offices.
- Assist with the processing of subcontract accounts, reviewing, remeasuring and issuing the necessary payment certificates prior to payment.
- Commit to equality and diversity and to promote non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
- Adhere with the Health and Safety at Work Act to take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
To be successful in a Trainee Quantity Surveyor role, the skills you will need:
- 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above or NVQ 2/3 in Construction Related subject or equivalent).
- A willingness to attend training College/university on day release and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
- To be methodical, accutrate and Pay attention to detail.
- A good understanding and use of IT packages. spreadsheets, databases, word processing with the ability to analyse and process technical data.
- To be willing to accept responsibility for Completing designated tasks.
Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
- Minimum 2 years Quantity Surveying experience within social housing.
