Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Trainee Quantity Surveyor Norwich, England

Richard Utting Associates LLP
Full Time Norwich, England 10.56 - 12.04 GBP Today
Job description

Quantity surveyors are in demand around the world and can often move into top managerial posts.

Quantity surveyors look after the financial management of construction projects, from concept through to design, build, maintenance and disposal. They play a vital role in deciding whether projects are financially viable. They also provide consultancy services to clients: evaluating the economic feasibility of a project, development costs, procurement options, contractual arrangements and legal constraints.

Richard Utting Associates LLP is a leading Construction Consultancy practice delivering projects across the United Kingdom.

We are looking for highly motivated A-Level / NVQ students, who have or about to achieve a minimum of 112 UCAS points from a minimum of two A-levels (or equivalent) to join our expanding Team as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, to work towards a degree and professional accreditation (sponsored by the Practice) whilst in full-time employment. The successful candidate will also hold a minimum of four GCSE’s at Grade C, or Grade 4 or above, which include English and Maths.

Full on the job training will be provided and the individual will be supported and enrolled (funded by the practice) onto a part‐time day release degree course at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford, Essex. This degree course will explore the scientific, social, legal, technical, ethical, economic and political aspects of the built environment. Through your day-to-day office based role, you will learn to use industry-standard software to measure and cost a range of construction projects. You will be expected to support other surveyors in the office and attend Client / Contractor meetings as appropriate with more senior staff.

This full-time position is to commence Summer 2023, with your degree course starting September 2023 (next enrolment window). Should you already be enrolled on a suitable full-time degree course, that can be converted to a part-time course or already in employment undertaking a similar role elsewhere, then this will also be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to commence their construction career within a growing professional practice.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, then please forward your CV to Jonathan Nelson BSc (Hons), FRICS, Partner.
