What is the role?
We are now looking to recruit a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join a busy Commercial Team.
The purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors in their commercial management duties.
The role will include:
- Undertaking administrative duties to support the team as required under the guidance of the SQS & QS
- Raising pre-agreed orders
- Reviewing subcontractor matrices
- Assist in the tendering process for new sites
- Managing the simpler payments and simpler aspects of loading budgets
- Ensure weekly and monthly payments are processed
- Assist in negotiations to obtain the optimum rates for sub-contract appointments to maximise margins
- Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team to promote safety in the way we build projects
What experience, qualifications and skills are we looking for?
- Minimum of GCSE’s required
- Qualified to HNC or degree in Quantity Surveying or studying towards this level desired but not essential
- Full UK driving license is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Package, including Excel and Word
