The Greater Manchester Specialist Perinatal Service is a well-established multidisciplinary community team providing a range of tailored approaches to meet the mental health needs of women, birthing people, and their families in the perinatal period. We were recently recognised at GMMH’s Celebrating Excellence Awards.
Our core purpose is to work with women, birthing people to address identified mental health difficulties and mitigate any impact on the unborn baby / infant. We aim to provide a timely, integrated, high quality, and effective service.
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for three Cognitive Behaviour Therapist (CBT) training roles within the Specialist Perinatal Service.
The course is thePostgraduate Diploma (PGDip) Course in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies at the University of Bolton (due to start at the end of January 2024).
The PGDip CBP is a 2-year part-time course which qualifies candidates as a CBT Therapist at completion. The course is Level 2 accredited by the BABCP, and candidates can apply for accreditation upon completion of the PGDip.
This is a training role within the Specialist Perinatal Service. The training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions for women, birthing people and families using the core principles of CBT practice and evidence-based interventions consistent with the course they are attending. The post- holder will attend all taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days using their newly developed skills.
Onsuccessfulcompletion of the 2-year CBT training course it is expected that trainees will work as CBT therapists in the teams in which they trained.
