Trainee Production Machine Operator – Shifts
Role Description
To operate an Independent Section Machine in order to produce glass containers efficiently and to defined quality standards
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you. Carry out housekeeping as required in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules.
- Test the weight of the bottles using scales to ensure that they meet the necessary specifications.
- Gauge the bottles to ensure that they meet the necessary specifications.
- Carry out swabbing in accordance with pre-determined cycles.
- Observe the performance of the machine both directly and via the production information computer systems PIC, RIS & APS reacting to any changes to avoid quality or efficiency problems.
- Identify defects and problems with quality and machine performance, repair if possible or report immediately to supervision to avoid production delays.
- Change mould equipment as required and maintain availability of spares to maintain quality and efficiency of operations.
- Report necessary information via PIC, APS & RIS and using log sheet so that information can be referred to when required.
- Ability to recognise and respond to: Basic Container Defects, Basic Mechanical Malfunctions
- Analytical Skills
- Ability to swab machines safely.
- Observational Skills
- Ability to communicate: -Verbally, In Writing and Electronically
- Familiarity of Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
- Familiarity of Company Hygiene Rules and Procedures
- Understanding of work instructions and procedures.
Competitive salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales.
2-year training package with incremental salary increases on completion of set targets. Starting salary of £30,000, rising to £35,000 following completion of 9-month assessment. Full grade of £38,898 awarded following completion of 24-month assessment.
