We offer microbiology and consumer and sensory science consultancy services, including: analytical testing, safety and spoilage, molecular and microbiology methods, emerging microbiology, brewing microbiology research, industrial heat process microbiology, quality lab audit, and sensory science
Microbiology
Campden BRI provide science, technology and innovation support to the food and drink industry. Our Microbiology team test for viruses and pathegons in food & drink, test during the manufacturing process and offer consultancy work- supporting our members- food & drink manufacturers, retailers and aligned industries.
You will support the Microbiology Analytical Services section who offer an ISO17025 accredited testing services for a full range of pathogens and spoilage organisms.
Position
- Microbiological testing of samples
- Sample Receipt Steward
- Maintain records in accordance with Quality systems
- Main laboratory facilities and equipment as detailed in the Business Management System, including performing housekeeping duties in both all laboratories areas
- Demonstrate in audit situations if required
This is a trainee grade for candidate with A levels or equivalent and no practical experience. It is anticipated that candidates would move to a trained technician position (G2) after successful completion of suitable training period (approximately 12 months).
Requirements
- A Level grade A or B in Biology
- Work accurately within specified time frames
- Ability to work within a team with supervision and accurately follow instructions/SOPs
- Flexibility to undertake a number of tasks and help to prioritise tasks
- Accurate record keeping and reporting
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- ‘Can do’ attitude

Additional information:
- You'll work Mon-Friday 8am-4.30pm
- There is a weekend rota- every 5-6 weeks you will have to do several hours over one weekend
