Exciting opportunity to join a leading commercial dealer to train as a HGV Technician.

Our Client, a main commercial dealer in Peterborough, is looking for a fully qualified level 3 light vehicle mechanic to join their team and expand their knowledge, training as a HGV technician.

A unique conversion programme used is a fantastic mix of college training at a Training Academy, training from regional training managers and on-the-job mentoring, to help you convert your skills from working on LGVs to HGVs.

Your role will involve carrying out inspections, MOT preparation, diagnostic work and fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes, brakes and suspension systems on trucks and buses. You will also learn to use in-house systems and complete paperwork such as job cards and service sheets.

The successful Trainee HGV Technician will need to have:

• NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 qualified in Vehicle Mechanics.
• Be highly skilled and competent at carrying out repairs on cars, vans, motorbikes or plant.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and experience as a LGV Technician/Vehicle Technician/Plant Mechanic
• Be a team player, able to work to deadlines.
