Description of the Business Line or Department
The Communication team at Societe Generale UK ensures:
The definition of the communication strategy in the UK, in line with Group Communication.
The promotion of Societe Generale’s brand, culture, values and identity in the UK.
The support of its activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Market and Investment Services, Wealth and Asset Management.
The Communication team is organised around two interlinked pillars:
Thought Leadership
Corporate Engagement
Corporate Engagement includes the Events team and the CSR team as part of the same pillar along with sponsorship, brand and internal and external communications. The Thought Leadership pillar includes Media Relations, Editorial, and Business Line communication partners.
Summary of the key purposes of the role
The internship offered in the Societe Generale UK communications team provides 22 months experience dedicated to contributing to the promotion of Societe Generale to its internal and external stakeholders with a specific focus on Events.
Based in London, the role covers a large range of digital and physical events dedicated to internal and external audiences within the UK.
Summary of responsibilities
As part of the Events Team, in line with the UK Events Strategy, the main responsibilities are to:
Support and work alongside a team of 2 Event Managers in the delivery of their events. This will include event planning, budget setting, liaison with suppliers and internal/external stakeholders, on-site management, post-event feedback and budget reconciliation.
Manage the day-to-day delivery of our event offering.
Manage our ticketing responsibilities linked to the Royal Albert Hall and Twickenham (rugby).
Deliver events on a solo basis as required.
Develop key relationships both internally (business and corporate teams) and externally (venues, suppliers, etc.).

Competencies
You will have a strong interest in developing your career in communication, and in particular events, within the Financial Services sector. You want to develop your experience by working in a small, busy team. This role offers you the chance to develop your event management skills further by being responsible for delivering events which represent the Societe Generale brand and promotes the bank.

Note: The position requires flexibility in terms of working out of normal office hours and potential to travel within the UK.
