Job title: Trainee Enforcement Agent

Reports to: EA Manager

Department: Operations

Salary: £23,000, OTE £50-£60K/annum

Location Home based, with requirement to travel to Equita, Client and Customer locations

Purpose of the role:

The role of an Enforcement Agent is to execute and manage the warrants and caseload allocated to you. The role will involve a training programme which will lead to the relevant enforcement qualification and becoming a Certificated Enforcement Agent.

What you’ll be doing:

· Attend addresses, alongside a certificated Enforcement Agent and observe Taking Control of Goods if payment is not made.

· To learn to negotiate payment arrangements which complies with client and company guidelines.

· Upload notes, photos and fees from each visit to the case management system correctly.

· Identify vulnerable groups and work within the company’s vulnerable group and safe-guarding policies.

· You will accompany EA’s on initial visits to customers at the addresses stated on warrants to obtain payment, execute warrants.

· To make enquiries to trace the whereabouts of absconders or seize goods to the value of the warrant and fees, for sale at auction.

· To follow a schedule to visit residential addresses to follow up executed warrants.

· You will be responsible to keep track of and enter accurate, detailed reports via company devices or databases in line with client requirements.

· Provide and maintain detailed incident reports.

· Work against collections targets which are set by the business.

· Follow Equita/R&R and CIVEA guidelines, policies and procedures when attending and dealing with customers.

· Support certificated Enforcement Agents to leave correspondence for debtors to ask for payment.

· To support certificated Enforcement Agents to serve court papers.

· Take away goods and arrange for them to be sold at auction.

· Be responsible for any money recovered, including banking of monies received

· To attend classroom and online training sessions, keeping written evidence of scenarios for certification.

· Adhere to Enforcement industry legislation, particularly the Laws Tribunals Courts & Enforcement Act 2007 and Taking Control of Goods, Commercial Rent Arrears Recovery, The Certification of Enforcement Agents Regulations 2014.

· Meet with an Enforcement Agent mentor in a timely fashion when undertaking "work shadowing" activities.

· To work with members of our community facing financial difficulty confidently and professionally

· To work towards completion of certification within agreed timescales

What we’re looking for:

· Current Driving Licence.

· Good communications skills both written and verbal and basic numeracy skills.

· Good administrative/organisational and negotiation skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to deal professionally with members of the public.

· Route mapping skills.

· An ability to work under pressure to strict targets and deadlines, with patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

· Knowledge of public safety and security.

· To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held tablet or phone

· GCSE to include Maths and English, Grades A-C or equivalent qualifications or experience

Training

Training will be undertaken in Northampton and the role is a countrywide one but the work allocated to you may be in the Sheffield area.

The role is full time, 37.5hr a week. We have the opportunity to employ 10+ Trainee Enforcement Agents.

  • Current Driving License and access to vehicle required (for self-employed agents)
  • Enforcement Agent related experience, working for the following debt types: Local government – Council Tax andNon-Domestic rates and Road Traffic.
