Trainee Electrical Design Engineer
AR Controls is an industrial controls and automation system integrator. We operate at various customer sites around the UK and Europe. Due to continuous growth and ever-increasing demand, we have a full-time vacancy for an Electrical Design Engineer with Eplan P8 experience. This is a newly created position to complement the existing Engineering and Electrical design team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical design of equipment for special purpose machines, robot facilities and other control systems. The candidate will be able to interpret customer design specifications, produce well organised detailed drawings and schematics. Occasionally there may be other engineering activities to perform, however the emphasis of the role will be to create electrical designs using the Eplan P8 design software
Key Requirements to apply
To qualify for the role, candidates must have a majority of the following:
- Electrical engineering background.
- An understanding of automotive sector would be a distinct advantage but not essential
- Knowledge in the Electrical Design aspect of Bespoke assembly machinery would be preferred.
- Knowledge in the Electrical Design aspect of Robotics and Jig Tooling would be an advantage.
- Have knowledge of Fluid power systems
- Experience of creating BOM and Layout diagrams.
- Knowledge of Eplan P8 is essential
- Knowledge of AutoCAD- (would be beneficial)
- Knowledge of the Machinery Directive and associated standards
- Knowledge of BS7671 18th Edition
- Understand / Develop and Produce, Health and Safety Design Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.
- Ensure systems designs are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive
- Able to work to BS EN 60204-1. BS EN 13849-1, BS EN 13850, BS EN 619 and other relevant standards
- Good understanding of Industrial Networks i.e. Profinet, Profibus, DeviceNET, CC Link IE. AS-I
- Produce electrical schematics according to IC 81346-1:2009
- Project management, procurement, assistance to manufacture and production.

Hours of work
The current office hours are
Monday - Thursday (8-4.30pm)
Friday (8-1.30pm)

Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £20,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
