Trainee Early Childhood Specialist Trainer
Salary: £21,000 & £4000 car allowance
Hours: 37.5 per week / Monday - Friday
Job Type: Permanent, Fulltime
Location: Remote with travel across UK as required.
Purpose of Role:
The Trainee Early Childhood Specialist Trainer (TECST) is a key support role in Bright Horizons UK, with responsibility for the delivery and administration of pedagogical training for colleagues across the business. This role comes with a responsibility to contribute to the development, writing, and delivery of training up to Level 6, under the guidance of the Early Childhood Specialist Trainer. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of Early Childhood objectives through contributing to training and professional development activities of the highest quality, which reflect inspirational education practices, and current international research and thinking.
The post holder will need to ensure that the training they produce is differentiated to meet a variety of learners’ needs. This will include ensuring that policies and best practices are communicated clearly so that early childhood pedagogy is supported/taught effectively.
The role works closely with the Professional Development team, nursery managers, Early Childhood Specialists and Area Directors, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Human Resources and Operation teams, to ensure best practice in teaching, learning and compliance with Bright Horizons’ policies and procedures.
What you'll be doing;
Contribute to the development and delivery of a range of face-to-face and digital pedagogical training to be available to all colleagues, promote HEART culture, values, and behaviours, to drive quality improvement and pedagogy, making a positive contribution to service excellence
Support the successful implementation of Early Childhood strategy and training across all nursery settings, to ensure alignment with company strategic objectives
Contribute to the vision for Bright Horizons UK pedagogy, through the successful implementation of differentiated training and development activities to support the Bright Beginnings Curriculum, Quality Improvement Framework and programmes for SEND/I (special educational needs and/or disability and inclusion) and Emotional Wellbeing
Contribute to the delivery and management of agreed professional development initiatives, proposals, and projects for pedagogical innovations and across the Professional Development Team
Act as the ‘advocate for children’ within the scope of the Trainee Early Childhood Specialist Trainer role, to ensure a ‘Children First’ approach to children’s physical and emotional wellbeing, including Safeguarding, Child Protection, and regulatory compliance, under the direction of the ECAD team, external agencies and professionals, as required
To support the Early Childhood Specialist Trainer in a wide variety of tasks and activities to successfully execute the responsibilities of the Early Childhood Training Team and the wider Professional Development team.
Support and deliver training on pedagogical leadership programmes.
Contributing to the provision of outstanding pedagogical training and development activities for nursery practitioners and Early Childhood at all levels.
Delivering high-quality training with support from the Early Childhood Specialist Trainer.
Using agreed systems and tools to build data to show the evidence of impact of the wider Professional Development Team.
Supporting HR, Professional Development, Early Childhood and Operations teams in ensuring cohesion and supporting the development of high-quality induction, compliance and relevant training for incoming talent and existing staff in nurseries
Contributing to the development of new training programmes as requested in collaboration with the Early Childhood Specialist Trainer to enable Bright Horizons to offer the best possible support for children, promote high levels of emotional development and secure high-quality practice for children with SEND/I (special educational needs and/or disability and inclusion, ensuring regulatory compliance and consistency
Continuing own personal and professional development, accessing ‘high level’ training and development activities that inform pedagogy based on national and international perspectives of ‘best practice’
What we need from you;
Experience, or a desire to learn more about, training and designing training in Early Childhood related subjects for practitioners at all levels
Experience of working within nurseries and/or the wider Early Childhood Sector. This may be directly employed experience or experience as part of undertaking a qualification
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with the confidence to speak to a wide audience both face-to-face and virtually, and ability to adjust communication to suit a range of stakeholders
Able to use IT and office programmes (Microsoft Office) to support all aspects of development and delivery of relevant quality training and use of data to monitor quality and measure the impact of training
UK Driving licence & access to a car.
Experience Desirable:
Some experience of training creation and delivery. This may be as part of undertaking a recognised qualification.
Previous experience of working within nurseries and/or the wider Early Childhood Sector. This may be directly employed experience or experience as part of undertaking a qualification
Experience of engaging with the wider Early Childhood community either within your local area or globally through social media or learning opportunities
Knowledge and understanding of all relevant regulatory requirements and inspection processes in the UK
Qualifications:
Level 3 qualification in Early Years
Foundation Degree (Desirable)
BA Hons or equivalent Level 6 qualification (Desirable)
Post Graduate professional qualification – Qualified Teacher Status; Early Years Teacher Status or Early Years Professional Status (Desirable)
Evidence of continuous professional development and awareness of current pedagogical national initiatives
Digital training accredited qualification (Desirable)
