Job Description
Job Title: Trainee Dog Trainer
Location: Covering all areas of Yorkshire & Humberside
Reports to: Business Owners
Staff Responsibilities: None
Hours of work: Variable but averaging 40 hours per week over 5 days. This job entails extensive weekend working and a good deal of travel to clients
£20,000 per year paid monthly around 25th of the month. After a period of
Salary: training/probation – estimated to be no more than 6 months - this will increase to
£28,000 if performance is satisfactory.
Holidays: 30 days paid including public holidays
Notice Period 1 month notice required by either party during training and 3 months thereafter
Payment of £0.40/mile using own vehicle and after training, the company hopes to
Travel: provide a suitable van. This must be always kept clean and tidy. It must not be used for private purposes.
You will be required to wear a unform at all times and must keep this in clean and
Uniform: well presented condition. Where appropriate you will wear protective equipment that is supplied by the business. You will be supplied with an appropriate set of training equipment.
Summary of Position: To become sufficiently competent to undertake dog training alone and to the exacting standards of the business and to provide exceptional customer service. Our reputation is second to none and our most valuable asset. You must recognize this in all areas of your work.
Primary Responsibilities – following 6 month training
To train residential dogs on a one-to-one basis in different environments.
Undertaking dog training be aware that training of some dogs comes with risk of injury and take all precautions to avoid any incident occurring
To ensure that owners understand the techniques and equipment required for
Training of Dog Owners training their dog and are comfortable to continue with their use after the sessions are complete.
Personal Development To actively participate in personal training within the business and externally if required

Ability to use all Microsoft products but specifically Word Must be able to operate in a small team environment and Excel. and able to relate to members of staff at all levels
