We are looking for a Trainee Designer to join our team at our office in Westhill, Aberdeenshire on a staff basis. This is a great opportunity as no previous experience specific to the role is required and all training will be provided.
What will you be doing?
You would be joining a professional group of CAD Designers with a great work ethic and team sharing mentality, working in one of the most diverse industries in the world.
You will undertake a structured 3 year in-house vocational training program with assigned
mentors to fully develop your learning potential in various disciplines of engineering design.
Our team provides a variety of design skills and disciplines to support all project phases from
tender and design through to installation and commissioning, which covers the emerging
renewables and maturing oil/gas industries.
- Learning drafting techniques for designs and assignments using industry standards and codes
- Create engineering drawings, 3D models, layouts and sketches
Typical Projects and Work Scopes include:
- Bundle design and installation
- Renewables – Power Bundle R&D
- Renewables – Floating Wind
- Pipelay
- Subsea structures/manifolds
- Field developments and tie-ins
- Inspection, Repair and Maintenance
- Installation/ Decommissioning
- Vessels/Equipment/bespoke tooling
- Bids/Studies/Feeds
What experience would we like you to have?

- HNC/HND Qualification in a recognised Engineering discipline
- Good communication & computer literate
- Knowledge of technical computer packages such as 3ds Max, Phoenix FD, Unreal Engine, V-Ray, Adobe Creative Suite would be desirable
