We are now inviting applications for the post of Trainee Decontamination Technician.
We are now inviting applications for the post of Trainee Decontamination Technician.
This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week and will include working weekends on a 3 week rotational basis) and is based at Ramsay Sterile Services East Midlands in Kettering.
We are opening a new Decontamination Hub in Kettering in April 2023 and we are looking for staff to be part of this exciting new development!
The new purpose built State of the art unit will provide an efficient Decontamination service to 9 Ramsay Hospital sites and will be operational 24/5 with weekend cover. A full training program will be provided.
This exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic individuals, who have an eye for detail and a desire to make a difference. A full training programme will be undertaken to ensure the necessary skills are achieved during which you will report to one of our Decontamination Technician Supervisors. There are opportunities to undertake an apprenticeship either now or in the future.
This job is a starting point for a successful career in medical device decontamination with a development structure and future opportunities for senior roles within the organisation.
The successful applicant must have:
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Good computer skills (MS Office package)
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Willingness to work the occasional night shift once competence is achieved
You are required to have a good level of general education and a desire to progress in the field.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing the full decontamination cycle on re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest of standards, in line within all Ramsay policies and procedures
- Participate fully in quality control processes ensuring procedures and documentation is completed accurately at all times
