Lincolnshire Talking Therapies (formerly steps2change) is an IAPT site and vacancies have arisen for 7 Trainee CBT therapists situated in bases across Lincolnshire – candidates will be asked for their preference at interview. The successful applicants will work in the Talking Therapies service whilst also attending Nottingham University for 2 days per week to study for a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The successful Trainees will provide treatment for people in the self-management of their common mental health problems through NICE recommended protocols whilst studying to attain the CBT qualification. Trainees will be asked to sign a contract binding them to work for the Trust for 2 years after qualifying. Candidates must be available to start the course on 6th March 2024 and be prepared to travel to the University when required. You will need to hold a degree, plus a Professional qualification such as Clinical Psychologist, Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Psychological Therapy or be able to provide evidence of meeting the Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) requirements of the BABCP – see the link below https://www.babcp.com/Accreditation/Provisional-Accreditation/Core-Professions Please be aware that if you are applying via KSA route, the portfolio must be ready for submission by 10th January 2024. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and signpost clients who require other services on to the relevant service as necessary. Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service. Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols . Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach. Undertake psychological assessments of patients referred to the service. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT and other agreed psychological therapies Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health services and a number of learning disability, autism and social care services in the county of Lincolnshire. Attend meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate. Complete all requirements relating to data collection within the service. Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach. Undertake psychological assessments of patients referred to the service. Assessments will include identification of the patient’s problem, comprehensive risk assessment and identification of goals for therapy. To successfully complete and pass the Post Graduate Diploma in CBT. To attend clinical supervision. Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating, professional and accrediting bodies (eg BPS, UKCP, BABCP), and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g. IAPT, National Institute for Clinical Excellence) Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times Be aware of, and keep up to date with advances in the spheres of CBT and other agreed psychological therapies Ensure clear professional objectives are identified, discussed and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development Attend clinical/managerial supervision on a regular basis as agreed with Manager Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives Keep up to date all records in relation to C.P.D. and ensure personal development plan maintains up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments Attend relevant conferences / workshops in line with identified professional objectives To contribute to the development of best practice within the service To maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures All employees have a duty and responsibility for their own health and safety and the health of safety of colleagues, patients and the general public All employees have a responsibility and a legal obligation to ensure that information processed for both patients and staff is kept accurate, confidential, secure and in line with the Data Protection Act (1998) and Security and Confidentiality Policies It is the responsibility of all staff that they do not abuse their official position for personal gain, to seek advantage of further private business or other interests in the course of their official duties.
