Cotswold Country Park and Beach isn’t just a fantastic place to visit with family and friends, it’s also a great place to work ... as we gear up for the 2023 season, we are looking for customer-focussed individuals to join the team to support us deliver a memorable experience for every guest on every visit.
The Park has just re-opened on 1st April 2023 for the season (and run until Sunday 24th September 2023), and we are now recruiting for all Front of House roles and Team Leaders to deliver fantastic service and high operational standards on a daily basis. Exciting opportunities are still available in the Beach Lifeguard team – as a Trainee Beach Lifeguard. This is an important role to ensure our guests are safe whilst participating on AquaVenture, water-based Activities and using the Beach, and that they have a memorable visit to the Park. This is no a normal Lifeguarding role... enjoying the buzz of IS working on the Beach, in the sun, during the day with a large team of Lifeguarding professionals.
Importantly, FULL TRAINING is provided for this role with an Open Water Lifeguard (OWL) qualification running on Wednesday 26th, Thursday 27th and Friday 28th April, plus a Aqua Park module and monthly Lifeguard training to build your skills and confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
- set-up, check and clean the AquaVenture (AV) and associated facilities (changing rooms, setting up areas, wetsuit and buoyancy aid stores, 1st aid room, powerboat), Beach and surrounding areas and Play Parks prior to the Park opening
- welcome, brief and suitably equip all participants of AquaVenture (AV)
- lifeguard and supervise participants during AV sessions, guests using the Beach area and swimming lagoon, and whilst on a water-based Activities to ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience
- maintain the cleanliness of AV, it's facilities and equipment (wetsuit and buoyancy aids) during the day and ensure all equipment is safely and securely stored away
- ensure safety checks are completed of AV to ensure it is fully operational, in good condition and safe for use at all times
- encourage guests to book any available slots for the AV or other activities in the Park
- maintain the cleanliness and safety of the Beach and Play Parks during the day with regular checks and end of day sweep
- if suitably qualified monitor 'lake safety' as Power Boat cover
- react appropriately and support as required for any incidents in the Park and ensure all details are logged
- work closely as a team to deliver a friendly, customer-focussed and memorable experience for every guest
- help guests with any queries so they can make the most of the Park
- support across the Park where necessary
Beach Lifeguards must hold a valid lifeguarding qualification (NPLQ or OWL) and ideally a RYA Power Boat Level 2. Monthly Lifeguard training must be attended and if required additional training will be given (Aqua Parks, Power Boat).

These are casual roles on a zero hours basis which will vary during the season, working across the week including busy weekends and holidays. Hours available from May 2023+ working Wednesday to Sunday to start with. Contracted roles maybe available for the right candidates. We will discuss further details of hours required and availability during the interview.
Please note, we are located in the idyllic Cotswold Water Park, so it would be preferable to have you own transport.
