Trainee Assistant Chef £11.31 per hour(raising to £11.72 after successful completion of probation attaining an assistant chef position) 37.5 hours per week Ty Coch Nursing Home What are you doughing here? The opportunity: As a Trainee Assistant Chef, you’llprovidedelicious and nutritious meals for our residents. You’llbe sourcing fresh food, working to a budget, supporting to lead the team alongside the Chef Manager and adding some flavour to our residents’ lives! Mealtimes are important, so we are looking for someone who can create exciting menus and recipes; after all,some of the happiest memories are made around the table. Some of our residents may have cultural or dietary requirements, we are looking for someone who can consider their needs, likes and dislikes to ensure that they look forward to and enjoy their mealtimes. What we need from you: Communication skills – you’ll be working closely with the Chef and Service managers, a team of food service assistants and our residents; they love to chat, so we need you to be approachable and friendly too. You’ll need some qualifications for this role, these includes NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation/ Catering and Food Hygiene Level 2. We offer lots of training and support, we even have a training team who are dedicated to provide you with all the tools you need to succeed. Organisational skills – you will be chopping, dicing, slicing, mixing, and marinating but you will also need to keep on top of the paperwork. You’ll support with menu plans, stock control, complete HACCP documents, adhere to Food Hygiene regulations and work to the budget, so we need someone who can cross the T’s and dot the I’s, as well as serving up delicious pies.
