The teams in this Business Line contribute, along with the Group's geographical entities, to supporting local authorities and companies in their environmental transition, as well as citizens to facilitate their access to a more sustainable consumption.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE/DESCRIPTION
Lab based role analysing bulk materials and soils for the presence of asbestos using Stereo Microscopes and Polarised Light Microscopes (PLM). Producing accurate results, ensuring workload is organised and up to date. Participation in internal and external (AIMS) quality schemes for the identification of asbestos in materials. Delivery of key objectives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Analysis for the presence of asbestos in accordance with HSE publication HSG 248.- Participate in internal and external quality schemes.
- Preparation of samples for analysis

Responsible for hitting daily targets and deadlines as set by the Asbestos Manager

Ensuring Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.

Ensuring Quality procedures are adhered to.

Data entry into LIMS.

Calibration, equipment and balance checks.
- Housekeeping, ensuring the laboratory work area is clean, tidy and free from rubbish.
Which skills and experiences you will need to succeed in this role?
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- 3 GCSE’s grade A-C/standard grade – general pass including Maths, English and Science
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
No previous experience required.- Full training will be provided, including undertaking the P401 Certificate for the “Identification of Asbestos in Bulk Samples”.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
