An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Stoke Wellbeing Service, a Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service in Stoke on Trent offering innovative and effective treatments for a broad range of mental health problems in primary care, focusing on anxiety disorders and depression.
We are looking to recruit a number of trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners. The successful applicants should ideally have 1-2 years paid experience working in a mental health setting and will be nominated and supported to apply for the post graduate certificate PWP course at Birmingham University or the PWP apprenticeship course with Staffordshire University in the 2023/24 cohorts commencing in October 2023.
If successful, applicants will be funded to work as trainee PWPs within the Stoke Wellbeing Team employed by Changes Health and Wellbeing Service. Successful applicants must be in a position to submit an application to the university in good time to participate in their selection process during June 2023.
Undertakes patient-centred interviews which identifies areas where the person wishes to see change and or recovery and makes an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
Ensure the maintenance of standards of practice according to the employer and any regulating bodies, and keep up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the department of health (e.g. NHS plan, National Service Framework, National Institute for Clinical Excellence).
Prepare and present clinical information for all patients on their caseload to their clinical supervisors on an agreed and scheduled basis, in order to ensure safe practice and to meet the requirements of the course. This will ensure that clinical governance obligations of the post holder, supervisor and service are met
