We are looking to recruit a Trainee Accounts Assistant. Applicants should have a good working knowledge of Finance. A logistics background would be an advantage but is not essential. The successful candidate will need to work to strict deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Working as part of a team they will also need to be able to work on their own initiative. A support package is available for study towards AAT level 4.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Filing and maintaining information logs as appropriate.
- Processing Purchase and Sales Ledger invoices.
- Dealing with queries, filing and general administration tasks
- Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and members of staff.
- Chase key staff for return and approval of invoices.
- Enter expense claims.
- Assist in the preparation of payments
- Bank Reconciliations.
- Assist with answering the telephones.
- To carry out any other adhoc duties as requested by line management
Profile
- Competent user of Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Sage 50.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and ensure deadlines are met.
- Good communication skills
- AAT Level 2 or higher
- Minimum education requirements: Maths and English and / or Welsh GCSE grade C or above.
- Willingness to progress.
