We have a great opportunity within the Property and Costs Accounts team for a trainee accountant. The team is responsible for the accounting for fixed assets and leases (combined balance sheet >£10bn), alongside several other areas including property costs and accounting for complex technology development projects.
You will have a varied role across the month but with particular focus on the delivery of a high-quality month-end close. This includes cost and income analysis, posting journals and reconciling Balance Sheet accounts.
You will be encouraged to develop a continuous improvement mind-set to drive efficiency and the quality of the processes you transact. Within the role, based on performance, you will be given the opportunity to complete a Level 7 Accountancy Apprenticeship – which includes the CIMA professional qualification.
About you
- Highly numerate with an interest in pursuing a career in Finance. Practical experience is advantageous but not essential.
- You will have an aptitude for working with numbers and large data sets, be an advanced user of MS Excel
- You will have great attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- You will have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You will be a team player with the ability to build rapport with both external stakeholders and colleagues.
- You will be a proactive self-starter with a positive growth mindset who enjoys working at pace and learning new things.
