As a trainee accountant we are the perfect place to learn the skills of an accountant and to work towards your qualifications. You will join one of our regional offices who will give you 121 support in your new role and you will also be part of a large group, to give you experience and a chance to build your career.
The Firm
Our firm base in Stroud is one of the largest in the area and prides itself on high quality of service and long term relationships that is has built with local businesses.
The team is close knit and are very supportive of each other, and are the perfect place for you to join to start your career in accountancy. When you start with the business you will be allocated a workplace mentor who will be there to support you through on job training as well as helping you to study towards your qualifications.
The Opportunity
This role will offer a variety of tasks across a number of teams to give you exposure to a range of accountancy practices.
Tasks including;
- The preparation of statutory accounts for a variety of sizes of businesses
- Basic drafting of the associated tax computations -both corporate and personal
- Bookkeeping
- VAT returns
- Management account preparation using a variety of accounting packages, such as QBO, Xero and Sage.
About you
- Relevant degree preferred
- Some work previous work experience inside or outside of industry desired
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to use initiative
- The ability to learn as you go and put theory in to practice
- A strong desire to want to build a career within accountancy
