Horizon Holiday Parks own three lodge and caravan holiday sites in Northern England and Scotland and have an appetite to grow. We are looking for a Trainee Accountant keen to learn and grow with us. Ideally part CIMA / ACCA qualified or AAT qualified and aiming to become CIMA / ACCA qualified in the next few years. We will support you in your journey and you will be involved in the growth of the group. If you have the right attitude but not yet the skill base to complete all the role requirements, full training will be supplied.
Job Summary / Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain the Accounts Payable & Receivable process
· Assist in the calculation of monthly accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
· Maintain accurate fixed asset registers.
· Calculate and submit quarterly VAT returns
· Assist in the computation of the various company accounts and monthly financial reports, both P&L and Balance Sheet.
· Assist in the development of routine Management Information Packs and provide the Directors with data to meet ad-hoc requests
· Identify opportunities to keep cost base lean and ensure consistency across various parks
· Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
· Ad hoc tasks to help meet the day-to-day responsibilities of the small Finance team.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
· Self-motivation and flexibility are critically important in a small team.
· Ability to communicate effectively with all stake holders, in both written and oral forms
· Part Qualified Accountant (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA etc). Desirable.
· Analytical thinker
· Ability to prioritise, with an excellent attention to detail.
IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office and Sage Accounts
