Role responsibilities
We have an exciting opportunity within the Train Planning team for an Traincrew Diagramming Production Specialist, who will help prepare traincrew diagrams that are robust and contribute to delivering a train service that will meet the franchise performance targets.
This role involves actively working across with the business specifically with Control and Resource teams to ensure successful delivery of the STP traincrew diagrams.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Prepare traincrew diagrams that are robust and deliver a train service that will meet the franchise performance targets and issue these in a timely manner.
- Preparation of robust traincrew diagrams for STP including Special Events
- Prepare and deliver cost effective taxi plans
- Liaise with Customer Services, Operations and Resource Centres to ensure diagrams meet Manpower and Budget plans, and to ensure that plans are deliverable within available resources.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing improvements to planning and diagramming processes and systems
- Undertake full responsibility for an entire week of Train Crew Diagramming.

Essential requirements to be considered for this role:
- Proven experience of working within the Railway industry
- Demonstrable knowledge of operations practice, operating instructions and procedures, signalling headways, timing and timetable principles and constraints, application of Rules of the Route and Rules of the Plan
- Thorough geographic knowledge of all routes over which TfW services operate
- Experience of achieving deadlines and maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Excellent IT literacy with good knowledge of train/access planning IT systems
Welsh Language Skills
The ability to speak/write Welsh would be advantageous to your application, but it is not essential for this role.
