About the role
The primary function of this role is supporting the continuous improvement of the Train Presentation (TP) function within EMR. Supporting the development of various workstreams to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the TP function.
Reporting to the Head of Train Presentation and working closely with the TP management team to coordinate the operational and administrative structure of the function. This will include leading the functional reporting on quality standards & KPIs, coordinating training and competencies, supporting product development trials, driving the safety culture within TP and managing communications with the wider business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement robust, compliant, and simple cleaning policies and procedures, ensuring they are reviewed and kept up to date and effectively communicated within the department and to wider stakeholders as appropriate.
- Constantly monitor operational activities to support a culture of continuous improvement in Train Presentation, challenging the management team to consistently deliver clean and safe trains for our passengers.
- Support the management team with the coordination of resources and budgets, ensuring they have the relevant information available to inform management decisions, liaising with support functions and external agencies where necessary
- Develop a strategy and lead on all communications with the wider business and contractors to improve on stakeholder engagement and collaborative working across departments and external suppliers and contractors
- Streamline materials and equipment to maximise the efficiency of the function..
- Support the coordination of the function’s competency management structure.
- Coordinate purchase ordering and stock management for the department
- Report on Service Quality Regime (SQR) metrics and KPIs and record narrative on actions taken as a result.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will be…
- A strong communicator with the proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in multiple locations.
- Significant experience of clerical and administrative systems and tasks
- Experience of dealing with third party suppliers and contractors including holding to account and building positive relationships.
- A commercial acumen to challenge value for money and manage stocks effectively.
- A high degree of computer literacy to create reports, write briefs and process large amounts of data in an understandable format
- Good commercial acumen and an ability to manage and negotiate contracts with clients and suppliers.
- Resilient self-starter with a passion for service excellence.
- Demonstrates strong business/commercial approach and understanding of business needs.

Location: Derby - Locomotive house / Nottingham Eastcroft with travel anticipated between EMR locations
