Northern are looking for someone to manage and coordinate the operational train presentation team in our East Region, to deliver clean, presentable, and functioning trains for our customers. As part of the Train Presentation team, you will play a vital role in ensuring they deliver a high cleaning service to meet the requirements of our customers and other stakeholders. With new carriages, more services, and a growing business it is our job to make Northern fit for the future.
A day in the life of a Regional Manager will include:
- Ensuring the desired quality of cleanliness is delivered consistently at all the locations in the East Region, following the company cleaning specification using the company approved cleaning equipment and methods to achieve the relevant quality measure.
- Directly managing four Train Presentation Supervisors and indirectly manage around 150 team members
- Travelling across your region to meet the teams, who work 24/7 a day.
- Liaising with internal business advisors to ensure company procedures are delivered in relation to safety, human resources, facilities and stock availability.
- Organising training, recruitment, rosters and workload are all correct and planned.
- Being part of the wider regional team, supporting on delivery of projects that impact the wider business strategy, this might be an upgrade of employee accommodation or a new cleaning location.
About you:
We are looking for a motivated individual that can drive the desired quality standards. To be successful in this role your greatest strength will be your communication skills, with the proven ability to manage in a multi-location environment with a customer focussed business.You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Sound knowledge of cleaning techniques and working practices to achieve the best results
- Coaching and influencing people to produce a consistent standard of delivery
- Proven ability to work on own initiative and make sound decisions under pressure
- Relevant experience using technology including mobile devices
- Experience cost and stock control
The role requires you to:
- Have or be willing to complete Depot Safety training, Personal Track Safety, COSHH training and NEBOSH
- Have a supervisory or managerial qualification - desirable
- Have a UK driving license
- Have GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
