Trading Underwriter
Salary between £45,000 - £53,700
We are looking for a Trading Underwriter to join one of our London based Commercial Underwriting Teams.
You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business within Aviva! This will involve partnering with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure we provide whole customer solutions.
A bit about the job:
This role could be ideal for you, if you are a multiclass underwriter (property and casualty) and able to operate within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow a book of commercial Mid–Market business.
As the Trading Underwriter, you will work collaboratively within the London City Underwriting team to support both the Lead Trading Underwriter and Underwriting Leader in delivering financials. Along with dealing with insurance brokers and or customers, enjoy mentoring and developing others and currently working towards your underwriting licence.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Previous Property and Liability underwriting experience
- The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
- Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
- Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
- Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases

- Salary between £45,000 - £53,700 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
