Please note that this is a part-time role, with opportunity to flex up as when needed. The shop will be open 11:30-6:30pm, Monday to Saturday and the occasional Sunday.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Shop Assistant to join our retail team from Wednesday - Saturday and some Sundays, helping to make our Exmouth Market plant shop a huge success. This person will work on the shop floor, providing expert plant advice, nurturing customer relationships, and creating a wonderful shopping experience that will encourage repeat visits. Our Shop Assistant will be integral to the smooth running of operations, reporting directly to our Shop Manager and supporting them in the day-to-day running of the shop. There will also be opportunities to help with pop-up stalls and plant workshops.
The ideal candidate for this role will have loads of enthusiasm and a real passion for plants. You’ll be proactive and efficient, with the ability to keep a cool head in busy periods. A confident and friendly demeanour is a must, as you’ll be engaging with customers on a regular basis and giving them advice on their purchases.
Duties will include:
Supporting the store manager in daily operations
Advising in-store customers on plant choice and care
Developing customer relationships and building rapport
Creating a memorable customer experience that will encourage repeat sales
Skills needed:
Passion for plants and good level of horticultural knowledge
Friendly, confident, and well-presented
Organised and able to multi-task
Excellent communication skills
Sharp attention to detail
Visual merchandising skills
Flexibility and adaptability
