What’s in the role and what are we looking for?
The purpose of this role development, creation and delivery of the marketing planning, budgeting and forecasting across all territories and channels by interrogating and integrating in-depth performance analysis across season, mid-term and long-terms plans to drive customer acquisition, retention and loyalty; optimising marketing campaigns to ensure maximum return on investment by audience and territory. You will lead from the front in the interrogation, manipulation and delivery of all marketing management information and reporting to inform tactical planning, underpinned by customer data and intelligence. You will lead all commercial data feeds into stock purchasing and resource planning department (Contact & Distribution Centres). You will provide key stakeholders with a suite of management reports of the highest accuracy and appropriate granularity to appropriate business and marketing decision making and agility. You will turn data into actionable insight to drive commercially optimised recommendations. You will use this analysis, findings and your commercial acumen to shape and deliver marketing planning, decision making and ultimately customer file growth. You shall support optimisation inclusive of but not limited to traditional acquisition campaigns (OTP and press inserts) and management of promotional gift stock.
The key responsibilities for the role include:
Business & Marketing Planning
- Support the Planning & Trading Manager in the creation, interrogation and evaluation of Home Shopping marketing plan across all territories and channels through to by month P&L In line with the financial and business planning calendar
- Manage the planning and budgeting of marketing campaigns (customer acquisition, retention and reactivation) across all channels and territories underpinned by customer and data intelligence
- Maintain business trade forecasts with timely updates and dissemination of information to meet the needs of key stakeholders, as required
- Lead in the creation, refinement, manipulation and refresh of campaign demand curves based on known patterns and behaviour, to ensure demand distribution is accurately reflected in the budget and forecasting process to aid accuracy in resource planning and fulfilment and minimise costs and wastage
- To collate, archive, distribute, discuss and maintain a suite of trading reports across the Marketing Plan and contribute to the summary data required for budgeting and planning process, for all territories
- To produce standard reports for marketing campaigns and activity for review within the team; running the reporting schedule on time and drawing conclusions and recommendations to inform commercial decision making as required
- Ensure all marketing activity is accurately represented in operational sales system (SAP) in advance of campaign launch
- To complete adhoc reporting, analysis and commercial modelling as required
Marketing Management & Analytics
- Interrogate all marketing and trading activity to ensure optimal return on A&M investment to achieve more “bang for our buck” (weekly, monthly, by activity, seasonally)
- Continually review and develop customer acquisition and retention strategies to drive improved time to 2nd purchase, repeat order frequency, order value and customer loyalty, with a view to increasing customer share of wallet, lifetime value and profitability in conjunction with the wider Marketing team
- To manage OTP and press insert programs for all territories, from season planning in line with ROI targets to in-season management between Marketing, Merchandising and Media Agencies to result analysis and campaign optimisation benchmarked against commercial KPIs. Prepare required documentation for monthly cross-functional UK meeting with key stakeholders, minute and ensure all actions are captured, implemented and communicated
- Maintain current and new systems to ensure delivery of accurate information
- Manage and liaise with the customer database agency to ensure matchback processes are accurately reflected within weekly ASAT reporting in a timely manner, ensuring any irregularities are investigated and resolved making recommendations for improvements as required
- Utilise operational and marketing systems to interrogate and deliver actionable insight
Management Information
- Present during the weekly Marketing Huddle and as the marketing representative in the weekly Business Snapshot, reporting accurately on current and future trade across all territories
- To inform weekly trade reviews with clear, accurate information and develop report processes to meet the needs of the Marketing team and wider business
- To utilise weekly trade reviews to report on business performance and highlight areas of underperformance in order to drive decision making for trade bolstering and contingency plans where relevant
- To carry out and support the Planning & Trading Manager on all daily (daily sales, projections), weekly (ASAT, OIS, Web Tracker, Matchback, USA touchdowns) and monthly (Board papers, trade reports) trade and management reporting requirements, campaign analysis (PCAs, Brand) and seasonal (planning, budget, gifts & offers, demand curves) as required
- Ensure relevant, accurate information is shared cross-functionally as required
- Liaise with Media partners with the day to day relationship of the OTP & Press Insert program
Strategic Development & Projects
- Collaborate in the exploration of and lead in the implementation of key strategic projects, liaising with key stakeholders across the business to ensure all impacts and considerations are documented and agreed upon
Business & Team
- Manage and closely work with Media partners relationships where necessary
- Manage internal key stakeholders and wider team relationships
- Assist, support and collaborate with the wider PIteam on key strategic projects as required
- Deputise for the Planning & Trading Manager as required

Apprenticeship
This role comes with the option to complete an 18-month data analysis apprenticeship course through the Apprenticeship Academy. You will work towards the Level 3 Data Technician/ Junior Data Analyst Apprenticeship.
Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship programme full support and training will be provided; combining on-the-job learning with classroom learning.
