Our work matters to millions. It’ll matter to you too. Join our Rail UK team as a Track Operative on the Core Valley Lines Project and you’ll be a big part of fascinating, complex, varied and meaningful work.


What you'll be doing


As a Track Operative, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Assist with carrying out Track Renewals work as directed by the Supervisor/Track Chargeman.
  • Understand and be conversant with all expected safety behaviours.
  • Assist with auxiliary duties as required.
  • Sound/Some knowledge of Permanent Way Renewals, particularly concerning
    component parts.(or willing to learn)
  • Knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW Act and other appropriate
    statutory regulations.
  • Willing to work weekends & unsociable hours when required

Who we're looking for


You will have the following:

  • Demonstrable experience of general Track work/Renewals(Essential)
  • PTS (Essential)
  • COSS, Lookout, Hand signalman, Small Plant proficiencies.(Preferred)
  • Ability to work as part of a team(Essential)
  • Ability to drive.
