The Role: Totem Product Analysis & Design Summer Intern.

The Location: London

The Team:
The TOTEM service, founded in 1997, provides the major market makers in OTC derivatives with definitive consensus market prices. More than 50 of the leading banks, trading houses and other investment professionals use the TOTEM service as the key independent check of their trading book valuations.
The service encompasses the equity, interest rates, currency, commodity, credit and bond markets, providing comprehensive matrices of vanilla prices and a wide selection of exotic products.

The Impact:
The Totem Product Development team consists of several Product Analysis & Design specialists located in our London office and is currently engaged on the following initiatives:
Providing tactical solutions for all new initiatives around Totem Product
Migrating some of the services on a new innovative and centralized platform powered by AWS and Python
Leveraging data science to drive new initiatives around Totem unique proprietary data
The successful candidate will be working on Research & Development initiative involving applying Data Analysis & Machine Learning to promote new feature for Totem Product.

Responsibilities:
Driving forward R&D project leading to new Totem feature in the future
Providing data analysis by combining internal and external datasets to drive new features adoption from our customers
Interacting closely with Business Development, Product Services and IT to deliver a better product overall
Example of projects are corroborating consensus with trades, creating uncertainty indicators around consensus, apply machine learning to derive signals

Undergraduate or Master’s degree in a financial or quantitative discipline is essential
Strong analytical, quantitative and problems solving skills are essential
Data analysis skills
Proficiency in Python desirable
Practical understanding of the basics of mathematical finance and derivatives pricing

To be eligible for our UK Summer Internship program you must have the right to work full-time now and in the future. We currently do not offer visa sponsorship; however, we do run our programs in several locations across the globe and welcome you to consider those that are relevant to you.
