Tools & Equipment Lead

British Airways Engineering Wales is home to BA’s world class engineering team, and we would like to welcome applications for our latest Tools & Equipment Lead role within our British Airways Maintenance Cardiff (BAMC) business.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a small team to provide support to Production for all tooling and equipment required to maintain aircraft in line with maintenance plan. This is to be fulfilled using continuous imporvement and lean principles, whilst maintaining effective3 cost control of the group. To be carried out that ensures compliance with CAA regulations and all Health and Safety legislation.
Working closely with Production team to deliver the following:
- Maintain Quality standards to CAA/FAA requirements.
- Maintain compliance to all Health and Safety Legislation associated with this area.
Work within H&S guidelines to effect safe environment
- Provide first line of representation within SCD meeting and production control issues.
- Responsible for updating, amending and storing all compiance data associated iwth items of tooling and equipment.
- Responsible for maintenance and integrity of tooling and supplier or governing body requirements.
- Liaise with other departments within BAMC and LHR for all items required for aircraft in work.
- Produce data and actively participate in all relevant business meetings.
- Review plans and identify issues that could affect aircraft delivery and mitigate risks.
- Develop and motivate team through leadership, training, communication, coaching and mentoring.
- If you think this role is for you, then we are looking for someone who has:
- proficient in all aspects of compliance to tooling standards.
- Proficient in SAP transactions
- Understanding of inventory control IT solutions eg. Cribmaster.
- Excellent leadership qualities.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
- The ability to challenge, inspire, enable and encourage change in the business.
We will also need you to have the following qualifications/experience:
- Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade C or above in English and Mathematics or is able to demonstrate relevant experience.
- Leadership Qualification (ILM3/ILM5) or Project Management qualification or
- HNC/ Engineering related discipline or
- Formal Apprenticeship in a related discipline.
- Expereince of inventory control and T&E control IT solutions eg SAP and Cribmaster.
- Extensive experience of tooling/groud equipment.

Salary: £41,000.00-£44,000.00 per year
