Tool Engineer

Alfreton

Salary - £40000 + 10% Roster Hours

Shift System 0600-1400 / 1400-2200

Working for a growing global company specialising in the manufacture of Plastics Injection Mouldings for a variety of industry sectors, based in a modern state of the art facility in Alfreton

Main Purpose of Job:

Preparing tooling, maintaining moulds and providing setting support

Role Responsibilities

Prepare moulds in readiness for Production as per the Production plan and to the procedures documented.

Carry out regular servicing and preventative maintenance to moulds.

Carry out incoming/outgoing moulds inspections and complete all relevant documentation.

Liaise with Production and provide support during tool changes and throughout production, ability to problem solve and troubleshoot the issues.

Make continuous improvements to moulds by identifying faults and repairing, as and when necessary.

Competent in the use of Tool Room machinery, Manual Milling, Lathe, Radial Drill, Surface Grinder, etc.

Work on a weekly shift rotation to give cover for the production needs.

Manufacture of new tooling, jigs, and fixtures etc.

2D and 3D Cad Cam operations. Not essential but good to have.

Always adhere and commit to all Health & Safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally 3 years Industry experience post apprenticeship/training

Good knowledge/ability to perform all Tool Room operations.

Experience of servicing plastic injection mould tools in a moulding company environment

Good working knowledge of all tool making aspects.

A good working knowledge of plastic injection mould tools

Experience of Husky, Incoe, Yudo hot runner systems

Computer literate.

CAD experience. Able to use a CAD system to obtain tool details.
