Job description

We are delighted to be recruiting a new team as part of an exciting new Research England funded initiative: Thrive. A new approach to inclusive teamwork in research and impact leadership. Thrive will identify best practice in terms of inclusive and diverse teams-based working, pilot a new model of teamworking through a funding call in collaboration with the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and disseminate the findings to the wider HEI and research funder sector.

We are seeking to appoint a Project Manager to help coordinate and shape this new initiative.

The role provides an exciting opportunity to help shape and drive the management, delivery and operation of this important research culture project, in liaison with the Project lead and Management Board. You will manage a dedicated project team (including four direct reports). The role will be managed by the Thrive lead (APVC for Research Environment and Postgraduate Research) and will sit within a large collaborative Professional Services team that focuses on developing research and partnerships activity across the University of Liverpool.

You will be a creative project manager with experience of leading complex projects which engage different stakeholders, ideally within a Higher Education or Public Sector Context. You should have a degree (or equivalent qualification) or relevant professional experience. You need to be a proactive person who enjoys problem-solving and collaborative working. You will need to develop an excellent understanding of the UK research landscape, and in particular the current focus on increasing inclusion and diversity in Higher Education. You will be an excellent communicator and be able to pull together and motivate a team that crosses institutional boundaries.

This post is offered on a fixed term basis from September 2023 until September 2025.

Interviews are scheduled to be held w/c 17 July 2023.
