Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a care co-ordinator to join BMT & Cellular Therapy team working in the Wessex Regional Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit based in University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
The Wessex Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit in Southampton provides regional services for patients for a wide range of haematological conditions. The unit opened in 2001 and now performs over 180 transplants per year, and has some of the best outcomes in the country. Patients are referred from throughout the Wessex Region, including the Channel Islands.
We provide patient centred care to patients undergoing transplantation from the point of referral to the service, during their inpatient stay, and then during recovery both in the outpatient and day case setting. This is a small and busy team of supportive professionals. The clinical team work very closely with the care co-ordinators and are co-located in the BMT office.
