Following an investment in our Pharmacy Theatres and Anaesthetic Team, we are looking to recruit a senior support worker (Band 3) to join our team. The suitable candidate will assist the Lead Pharmacist for surgery and Anaesthetics in providing an efficient, cost effective and timely service to all theatres at Kettering General Hospital.
This post will be suitable for candidates who can show an aptitude of self-motivation, good inter-personal skill and good team working skills. Previous pharmacy experience is not essential and suitable candidates may come from a background with transferable skills and knowledge e.g. HCA, catering, laboratory work etc.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible and have the ability to work in a busy and demanding working environment. The person will need to be enthusiastic with good communication skills.
Main duties of the job
The role will include working alongside the Surgery Pharmacy Team, auditing, dealing with supply problems, monitoring the use of controlled drugs in the high-risk areas, implementing and training of theatre staff and working closely with the Anaesthetic and Theatres team. The role is ideal for someone that is highly motivated, able to follow detailed procedures and has great interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will have 5 G.C.S.E’S including Maths, English Language, and a science (A-C) or an equivalent qualification.
All training for the role will be provided.
