This exciting opportunity contributes to the successful development and delivery of Hands of Hope’s living and natural heritage environmental educational, skills and wellbeing projects as well as our more general charitable aims.
HOURS: Full Time – Fixed term 2-year contract
ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Community Learning Living History Educational Programmes & Volunteers
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Supporting the setting up and delivering Living History education, skills & well-being programme.
- MAIN DUTIES IN THE ROLE:
- Assisting the Heritage & Conservation Delivery Lead in planning, delivering and evaluating projects incorporated in The Living History Programme.
- Promoting and engaging schools and communities in Heritage & Countryside Management Education projects. Delivering school education events such as assemblies, workshops, road shows and external site visits during autumn/winter.
- Developing heritage environmental-themed indoor and outdoor learning activities working with schools, the community and other specialist providers – themes can include hedge laying, green woodworking, pond-dipping & Bushcraft, Sussex Trug Making, Scything, Spinning etc.
- Assisting with preparing, testing and marketing high-quality teaching and learning resources to enable formal and informal learning about the heritage environmental, cultural and community education programmes.
- Assisting with developing and maintaining a new Learning Zone of the Hands of Hope website.
- Maintaining displays and equipment and the overall appearance of the site's natural history & heritage delivery section.
- Assisting and advising visitors using the site and presenting a positive, helpful image at all times.
- Adhering to all administrative and financial procedures relating to events, organised visits, and Hands of Hope.
- Observe all Health and Safety requirements as set out and directed by the Heritage & Conservation Delivery Lead.
- Ensuring that legal, statutory and other relevant provisions governing or affecting the work are complied with.
- Undertaking any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
