The Testing team are responsible for providing software testing services for our internal and external clients. We work collaboratively with development, operations, and support teams across our company. We are working towards automating our manual tests as a whole team which would give you the opportunity to learn this exciting new testing field as part of your job.
Our work varies and keeps up with technology such as automation, as well as legislative change to ensure all systems work as expected.
If you have a keen interest in software testing, learning new tools and procedures, and developing your personal and technical skills then we’re the team for you.
You will be responsible for successfully managing a range of testing related duties such as:
- Carrying out functional and non-functional testing on IT Systems for scheduled releases and lead on designated DevOps, agile or waterfall projects. Deliverables include test plans, schedules, test assets and test artefacts
- Collaborating with development teams, business analysts and project managers to ensure appropriate tests are defined and developed to fit with client requirements. Ensure that requirements are understood, including recommendations with regards to test scope, approach, and effort
- Leading on the management of defects through to successful closure, including regular defect reports for a variety of stakeholders
To do this role well you will need:
- Educated to at least GCSE (or equivalent) qualification or proven work experience
- Knowledge of Software Testing practices and principles, and how testing adds value
- An inquisitive mind and ability to investigate, escalate, and resolve issues
- Experience of running test activities in small and medium projects including planning, test execution, reporting, and sign-off
- Strong analytical skills as required for problem solving, with excellent attention to detail
In return for your skills and experience, we can offer you flexible and remote working options for a 37hr week (full time) with start and finish times between 8am – 6pm, or part time hours to suit. Our team usually work from home and come into the office once or twice a week, but we are flexible on this too. If it helps, there is even flexibility on which office you base yourself from - Swindon, Newport, or Billingham.
