Job Purpose:
To test the quality, functionality and useability of software products created for the Innovation Delivery teams customers. Perform automated and manual tests, identify and document defects, and assist with UAT tasks such as testing deployments and preparing test completion reports for stakeholders.
In the Innovation Delivery Team we develop software products that enable our clients to break new ground in how they operate electricity networks. We help our clients to streamline how they plan and connect low carbon technology to their networks to enable them to supply their customers highest quality service possible.
Your aim will be to help them and us achieve our goals of lowering carbon emissions and moving towards a net zero carbon future.

The role is remote with fortnightly / monthly visits to our Capenhurst office (CH1 6ES) and to other locations as required.

Overview of Main Responsibilities:
- Testing scalable software at all layers and all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Participate in the day-to-day Agile aspects of projects (sprints, sprint planning, retrospectives)
- Ensure all software meets our coding standards and participate in code reviews
- Identifying innovative solutions to challenges identified
- Doing what’s needed to deliver great service to our clients

Essential skills and experience
- Experience with consuming and interacting with APIs
- Experience testing front end web applications
- Great attention to detail and emphasis on producing quality user experience
- Ability to analyse and write the test cases for sometimes complex software
- Take responsibility and ownership of projects and tasks
- ISTQB or equivalent qualification is desirable
- Relevant higher education qualification (degree, HND or equivalent)
Knowledge
- Agile SCRUM experienced
- Understanding of source control systems, branching and release methodologies
- Azure experience preferential
