At this time, we are looking for an Electrical Engineering Test Technician to join us. In this role, you’ll work with several of the best-known Fortune 100 companies on innovative technologies and products.

About this Role

As an EE Test Technician your focus will be supporting our team of internal EE’s developing next generation solutions for the AR/VR, consumer products, defense, and many other industries. You’ll be challenged with developing automated test equipment for data acquisition for optical benches, soldering, building up systems, and making cables at times. The work is varied and rarely the same here at Sherpa. As your skills grow to meet project demands we anticipate more responsibility and advanced duties to come your way. This position requires you be in our facility, with the lab equipment and team. (obviously, right?)


Basic Qualifications

  • Familiar with designing and building test bench systems to meet test requirements
  • Able to write test system software
  • Experience designing test fixtures
  • Enjoy soldering, board assembly, and rework
  • Proficient at creating cable assemblies
  • Possess great troubleshooting skills

Technical Competencies and daily duties

  • Able to communicate effectively and present technical topics clearly and effectively. Via conference calls, online meetings, and email communications with our customers
  • Strong programming skills such as Python or C/C++
  • Able to use electrical test and measurement tools effectively (0-scopes, multimeters, signal generators, etc.)
  • Able to prioritize work and tasks to meet schedule deadlines
  • Familiar with quoting jobs, outside services vendors for tasks we outsource
  • Good at hand work and attention to detail
  • Experienced with Altium software, preferred
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Keep schedules up to date and foresee potential problems to ensure on-time deliveries

Success Indicators

  • Ability to work collaboratively and deliver winning results in a small team environment with engineers
  • Self-driven learner able to grasp complex computer/math/software concepts quickly
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word) needed
  • Great at working directly with our customers to address needs and issues quickly
  • Experienced understanding of how electrical design and product development firms operate and their business drivers
  • Creative and like to solve challenging problems
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and manages their schedule to align with production schedules and department needs
  • Work well in a team environment and thrive on collaboration
  • Knowledge seeker looking to expand skillset

Compensation and Benefits


This is a mid to experienced level position, 5+ years doing this type of work. This position pays $75,000 – $95,000 DOE. Sherpa offers a competitive benefits package that includes:
