We're looking for a Media Development Technician to join our awesome R&D team.
Your experience with media formulation and mammalian tissue culture will make you an essential member of our technical team. You will be responsible for developing and optimising animal component-free formulations for stem cell expansion and differentiation, and will support our R&D team by carrying out routine tissue culture. Working alongside a group of brilliant scientists, engineers, and technicians, you’ll be supporting our journey towards large-scale production of cultivated fat.

As a Media Development Technician, you will work within our R&D team to develop animal component-free media for expansion and differentiation of our cell lines. Based in our brand new tissue culture lab in central London, you will be responsible for optimising and testing media formulations for use in a wide range of culture systems. Your role will involve conducting cell-based assays and validating media components using high throughput screening techniques. Your understanding of the chemical properties of media components, including their impact on pH and osmolarity, will make you an essential member of our team.
You should have at least one year’s experience working in a mammalian tissue culture laboratory within academia or industry, including:
An undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience in industry) in life sciences, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline
Familiarity with good laboratory practice and aseptic technique
Experience developing media formulations for cell culture
Mammalian stem cell culture and differentiation
Enthusiasm, curiosity and attention to detail
Ideally you'll have experience in some, but not necessarily all, of the following areas:
High throughput screening
Metabolomics and proteomics
Analytical techniques (HPLC, MS, ELISA)
Lab automation
ELN/LIMS
