Introduction
In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centres (Delivery Centres), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Test Specialist at IBM, your analytical and technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create. Come work in an agile environment where you will help each iteration reach the next level. Whether the testing is manual, automated, or cognitive, you hold a key role in releasing the best deliverables to IBM’ers and our clients. Your role will involve:
  • Working within an agile development team to design implement and sustain new and innovative software solutions to support our client mission.
  • Ensuring that all software is fully tested fully maintained robust and fit for purpose.
  • Managing the continuous integration pipeline for automated deployment.
  • Developing alongside other developer colleagues; reviewing code providing recommendations and working off a backlog of JIRA Kanban tasks.
  • Understanding the ecosystem and evolving how it is maintained on our platform.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest cloud technologies and sharing knowledge of tools and techniques with the wider team both developers and non-developers.
  • Working collaboratively within the team using Agile Ways of Working using tools such as Slack WebEx and Atlas.



Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Strong Automation Test skills required, including automated testing tools & frameworks such as Gherkin/Cucumber, Selenium, Jest, Citrus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience of working in an agile software development environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience of some of the following technologies and approaches for planning and executing automated QA tasks: Gitlab, Docker, Kubernetes, custom API testing, JUnit (preferably JUnit 5), REST Assure.
  • Proficient in best practices like Behavior Driven Development (BDD) with JavaScript frameworks such as Cypress ( optionally Puppeteer and Cucumber.js or similar ), Test Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Performance Testing using open-source toolsets.
  • Hands-on experience with functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, mobile testing, big data testing, cross platform testing, component testing, security testing, performance testing, UI/UX testing, A/B testing.
  • Comfortable working in a mixed Windows/Linux AWS environment with VS Code and IntelliJ IDEA.
