Job Description Job Title: Test Engineer Job Type: Hours: 40 hours per week Location: Consett Salary: £22-£26k DOE Key Responsibilities: Machinists proficient in properties of metals and in using shaping machines, milling equipment, and grinders for manufacturing precision test samples in accordance with quality requirements Operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner Maintain a high level of housekeeping and focus on ensuring a safe and efficient working environment Provide support within the machining workshop to fulfil business requirements Operate machining equipment in a safe manner, in accordance with instruction and manufacturers guidance Maintain a clean workspace, free of hazards Maintain traceability throughout the machining process Ensure that the quality output is commensurate with the requirements of the business Report equipment/ instrumentation failure to senior staff member to execute remedial action and thereby ensure continuity of service. Maintain organised and auditable systems of work to ensure compliance with UKAS 17025 accreditation. Delivery of allocated daily tasks within defined timescales to maximise operational outputs and efficiencies. Rudimentary appreciation and understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment to assure minimum quality and health and safety requirements are achieved. Qualifications How to be a successful candidate To be a successful candidate we are looking for someone who has experience working within a material testing facilities or worked within an engineering environment and are able to use multiple precision machining solutions in a production setting then this is the role for you.
