Test Engineer, based remotely.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to join our central data team at Jet2.com and Jet2Holidays as we continue our journey towards becoming a fully data-driven organisation and embed a data-first culture across our business. Reporting to our Test Lead, you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary, agile, data delivery team, focused on the delivery of innovative, robust, and efficient data solutions to complex business problems.
As a wider data team, our priority is the delivery of high-quality, well-modelled, clean, and trustworthy data assets for use across the business. Our data teams also Take Responsibility and work hard to support all our data assets, ensuring maximum benefit realisation and return on investment.

What will you do in the role?
Our Test Engineer will be responsible, along with the rest of the delivery team, for ensuring the quality of the data assets being developed for the business. You will also: -
- Work with the wider delivery team to assess the appropriate level of testing for each piece of work, followed by the planning, execution and documentation of testing carried out
- Work as One Team alongside other passionate data professionals and partner with other test engineers, data and analytics engineers, data scientists and data visualisation specialists
What are the key skills/experience you’ll already have?
As our Test Engineer, any experience of automated data testing would be advantageous, including the integration of test output with deployment pipelines (CI\CD). You will also: -

- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating and building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Have experience across all parts of the testing process, including test planning, estimation, execution, defect management, reporting and escalation, ideally in a data-related team (e.g. data warehousing, data engineering, reporting, data visualisation)
- Any test certification such as ISTQB would be highly desirable
- Have experience working in a fast-paced Agile delivery environment with a focus on rapid delivery of business value through iterative development and testing approaches
- Be skilled in the use of SQL and comfortable writing complex queries and working with large, complex datasets within a data-rich environment
- Have experience in data testing on one or more of the following technology platforms (cloud data platform experience preferred):
- Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
- Google Cloud Platform (GCS, Google Cloud Composer, GKE, Cloud Functions, BiqQuery)
- Snowflake Cloud Data Platform
- dBt Data Transformation Framework
- Tableau Data Visualisation Platform
